Since 1910, The Boy Scouts Of America (now Scouting America) has been enriching the lives of young men and families nationwide. Scouting programs have instilled the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.

Scouts participate in various activities to learn basic skills and promote teamwork. They earn badges while doing activities such as hiking, camping, swimming, climbing, and conservation. They learn lifelong skills such as First aid, lifesaving, and personal management. However, scouting also goes beyond that and encourages youth to achieve a deeper appreciation for service to others in their community.

Scouting has, from its inception, been deeply rooted in the concept of doing for others. “Do a Good Turn Daily” is a core Scouting precept. Scouting encourages young people to recognize the needs of others and take action accordingly.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Scouting promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and trains the future leaders of our community. Our troop is run by the older youth scouts who plan and execute the activities of the troop. With the support of our excellent adult leaders, the scouts learn how to plan and lead through experience.
